Supporting your family’s biggest transitions.
Pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum bring enormous transformations for the whole family. As a doula, I help equip you with the resources you need to thrive, so you can approach these changes with confidence.
Michelle Engleman, Certified Full Spectrum Doula
“Michelle is an *incredible* doula. She worked with me for my baby who arrived this August and I can’t recommend her more. She was so informative about everything from pregnancy to labor to postpartum - and I had so many questions! She was also really thoughtful and intuitive about what I (and my family) specifically needed. She pointed me to outside resources whenever I needed them. She was a warm and constant presence throughout a long labor. And her overall vibe is one of care and consistency, which built so much trust. My baby is doing amazing and I got to have the birth I hoped for with her gentle guidance and insight. ”
Services
-
Birth Doula
Receive physical, emotional, and informational support from the doula throughout your pregnancy and birth. During two prenatal appointments, the doula will work with you to solidify your birth plan, review comfort measures, and navigate evidence-based information so that you can make informed decisions that support your birth preferences. During labor, the doula is a continuous presence for the birthing person, working in collaboration with the rest of your birth team. Within the first two weeks postpartum, the doula will come to your home to check on your well-being, offer emotional support, and provide guidance related to newborn care.
-
Postpartum Doula
The postpartum doula supports the family’s physical and emotional health during the first three months after birth by providing in-home newborn support, best practices for infant sleep management, and feeding assistance. The doula uses evidence-based resources to guide the family in newborn care and answer any questions that arise. In addition to supporting the birthing person’s rest and recovery, the doula is also trained to recognize postpartum mental health needs and connect families to additional supports as needed.
I am not currently accepting postpartum clients. Current birth clients can inquire about availability for one-off postpartum requests, such as the first night home.
